About the game

Festung is a stylized fantasy tower defense game that combines strategic base defense with direct hero combat.

Build and upgrade powerful towers, command a hero with unique abilities, and adapt your defenses to increasingly dangerous enemy waves. Depending on the game mode, you can defend alone, cooperate with another player, or compete against an opposing team.

Game modes

Classic Tower Defense

Play the traditional single-player experience. Build towers on strategic positions, upgrade your defenses, manage your resources, and prevent enemy waves from reaching the fortress.

Commander & Hero Co-op

Two players defend the same fortress together while taking on different roles:

• The Commander oversees the battlefield, builds towers, manages resources, and supports the defense with tactical abilities.
• The Hero fights directly on the battlefield, uses powerful abilities, protects vulnerable positions, and reacts to threats the towers cannot handle alone.

Communication and coordination are essential, as both players have different perspectives and responsibilities.

Commander & Hero PvP

Two teams compete against each other, with each side consisting of a Commander and a Hero.

Build your own defenses, strengthen your hero, send additional enemies toward the opposing fortress, and find the right balance between attacking the enemy team and protecting your own base.
